The essential iPhone font app, this allows you to find out the name of whatever typeface you see on a poster or elsewhere. It’s easy, just take a snapshot of the font and the application will look through its wide database and tell you the name of the font. The huge database allows you even to take multiple fonts, when it figures out the previous one you searched for. This one is ideal for the curious cat.

It’s all very well wandering around the world taking snaps of fonts and then finding out what they are. However, what if you have a font in your head, hard to take a snap shot of that? One of the most creative and exciting uses for font has been to draw with it and this application allows you to do so. This is a well-priced and low cost application that allows you to create pictures from all the fonts and colours you can think of and is a must for those obsessed with type.
