Apple’s iPhone 4 is currently the world’s most popular smartphone. It has beaten all the records for the
most sales in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and overall, Its successor iPhone4S

The iTunes marketplace has over 500,000 apps on it, and there are thousands of them to choose from in
every category.

Below you’ll find some of the best and coolest iPhone 4 apps:

PlayStation One Emulator: If you grew up in the era of the first PlayStation, you may remember all the
games you played fondly, and now you can relive the experience thanks to this emulator for the iPhone.

It works pretty well, although the games are pretty darn big. The biggest disadvantage is the small
screen and the need to jailbreak your device, so it’s definitely not for everyone.

Kindle: After trying to unsuccessfully battle the new iPad with their Kindle, Amazon finally gave up and
released the Kindle app, hoping to at least retain users on their books marketplace if they could not
sell them on a separate device for eBooks only. And it worked, mostly because Amazon has the largest
collection and everyone is used to buying from them.

The Kindle app for iPhone looks and works very well – you can order the books, store them for reading,
and the reading experience is as pleasant as it can be on the relatively small display.

Dropbox: Dropbox is the new way of storing and syncing files, it seems. It is very easy to use – you just install the app and all the files that you put in a special folder are automatically uploaded to your online account and downloaded and stored on any other devices you own that are running Dropbox, as well.

The basic version is free, but if you want extra space, you can always purchase a bigger plan – it’s very convenient. With iCloud (which is basically the same service) here, it may be a bit redundant, but if you have something that you absolutely must never lose and be able to access at any time, having both
iCloud and Dropbox couldn’t hurt.

Dragon Dictation: The new iPhone 4S has Siri, a seemingly amazing virtual assistant that uses voice
recognition to do a lot of tasks, from setting your alarm to writing and sending an email.

That’s good news for those who have the 4S, but bad for those who own the iPhone 4 – the Siri app
stopped working on October 15th, a pretty ugly move of Apple’s part. But if you liked dictating emails,
documents and messages, you can always use Dragon Dictation, a great alternative that is also free – the
speech recognition engine is very good, but alas, it lacks the voice control features of Siri.

Adobe Photoshop Express: Yes, this is Adobe’s photo editing product for the iPhone in your pocket!
Photoshop Express is free, and it can do a lot of things for a mobile app – you can take a picture, crop or resize it, modify colors settings, add special effects and filters, and much more – all using your phone’s
touch screen. It’s pretty impressive, so check it out when you get the chance!

There are many other great apps available for the iPhone, and if you want to see what your device is
really capable of, all you have to do is perform a search online and of course, on the iTunes marketplace.

Can’t get enough of your favorite Korean pop stars? Love to hear their music and always wished you could see them live? Did you ever think that receiving a phone call from one of your favorite KPOP bands was never going to happen? Then chances are you haven’t heard of StarCall, one of the best free iPhone apps available that allows you to connect on a more personal level with your favorite groups.

Now, I have to admit, I was a little out of the loop with some of these bands as I’m not really into Korean pop music but I was certainly willing to give it a try and test the waters if not on my behalf but on the behalf of others who may be very interested! This was an app unlike any other I’ve downloaded. Stars like BoA, Super Junior, Girls Generation and even 2PM are available right at the click of a button. In this app they make you the star!

Also, there are quite a few behind the scenes looks at some of your favorite stars. If you don’t speak Korean, such as myself, never fear there are captions to help you follow along with them. There’s also a page that allows you to view your previous calls as well as your missed calls.

One thing that I like about this app is there aren’t many like it available for download, at least not the last time I checked. Now, we’re not all fans of Korean pop but to me it’s more about the type of app it is. It’s very cool and it’s exciting. It makes you feel for even one second that you’re as important as you and other fans make them feel! Besides, how often can you tell your friends you received a phone call from FTISLAND; probably never!

This is an app that’s also great for all ages. My little nephew could really enjoy this app but he can’t read so the up-close-and-personal videos with captioning aren’t much help for him but if your little one can read, they will love this!

No real long-distances charges needed her, we can only imagine how much it would cost to call an international land-line but here you can enjoy your call worry free! It’s actually a pre-recorded call but who needs to know that? Select the bands you’d like to hear from and wait for them to call you, it’s just that easy.

I am loving this app so much that I’m spreading the word to all of my friends and even enemies; it’s that good, why not share the news? There’s no background music and no sound effects to really speak of here just the videos you’ll view and the calls you’ll receive. No need to look your best since it’s all automated but it feels real and it’s super cool! The fact that it’s a free app only adds to it’s appeal! Also, you will need to purchase the app after a few free calls but it’s totally worth it!

I read a review about an iphone app called quiztones (Audiofile Engineering Releases Quiztones iOS App | BriefingRoom on Electronic Musician).

This is not a free app and I have no connection to this app at all, this is purely my finding a cool tool and wanting to share it. There are sub-upgrades as well, which I always hate in an app. I have not purchased any additional upgrades at this point.

I had extensive ear training when getting my music degree. I could easily recognize intervals, chords, voicings, progressions, etc. Now, in the world of home studios and DAW’s, the mixing has always been elusive to me (and still is…). This app teaches you to recognize frequencies as well as altered frequencies to a recording. It’s not easy to do. It will take practice. I can already feel an improved ear after using this tool. If you have the time and the patience and interest, you may want to look into it.
